New Catering Equipment | Frozen Yoghurt
Carpigiani UK launched the Carpigiani Dessert Club, a new online community for people who want to share knowledge and gain insight into ice cream, gelato and related desserts.
Why it launched
Managing Director Paul Ingram said the club had been planned for some time, but the market disruption of the moment made it the right time to go ahead. It was set up first as a support structure for the company’s customers, and more broadly as a go-to hub for anyone seeking information, guidance, inspiration or motivation. There was no obligation on members beyond registering a few details so they could be told about news and events.
Free webinars
The club opened with a series of free 30 to 60 minute webinars on subjects including:
- Latest food trends
- Recipe formulation
- Niche products
- Serving techniques
- Branding opportunities
- Q&A sessions
- Equipment use and maintenance tips
- Sustainability
The first webinar was on Thursday 23 April at 11 am. Chef Joe Yates showed how independent producers can enter the profitable home delivery ice cream and gelato sector quickly to drive new revenue. Ingram said new content would be added regularly and promoted on social media.
