Why battery power

An investment that works every day

A battery system costs more up front than a generator. It earns that back in cheaper power, no fuel, and trading days you do not lose.

01

Off-peak recharge

Charge overnight when power is cheapest, then run on stored power while you trade. Solar and generator charging are supported too.

02

No blackout

When the grid goes down, the battery keeps your equipment running. Stock stays frozen and you keep serving.

03

No noise

No engine and no generator hum beside your customers. Welcome at events, markets and quiet streets.

04

No pollution

No fuel to carry and no exhaust fumes where food is served.

05

Wi-Fi monitoring

See charge level, power use and alerts from your phone, wherever you are.

06

Very safe batteries

LiFePO4 batteries with a battery management system and built-in fire suppression.

Ice cream van and food van

A battery powered soft serve machine in your ice cream van

Charge the van at home at night, when power is cheap. Unplug in the morning and trade off-grid all day: the battery runs the soft serve machine, freezers, fridges and lights, with the engine off and no generator. Four capacities, sized so one overnight charge covers your trading day.

  • Single-phase across the range, three-phase from 32 kWh
  • Recharge from the grid, solar or a generator

How it works

Your machines stay the same. The power comes from the battery.

A battery system gives your machines the same power as a wall socket. Nothing about the soft serve machine, cabinet or fridge changes.

01

The battery stores the power

Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries, a very safe battery type, each watched by its own management system.

02

The inverter makes mains power

It turns battery power into normal single-phase or three-phase power, so your machines plug in as usual.

03

You recharge it

From the grid, solar panels or a generator. Most owners recharge overnight at off-peak rates.

04

You watch it on your phone

Wi-Fi monitoring shows the charge level, power use and any alerts.

FAQ

Battery systems: frequently asked questions

What type of battery is it?

Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4), one of the safest lithium battery types. Every battery has a management system that watches current, voltage, temperature and state of charge, and the van and in-store systems have fire suppression built into the battery.

What is a battery powered ice cream van?

An ice cream van where the soft serve machine, freezers and fridges run from a battery instead of the engine or a generator. You charge it at home at night, when power is cheap, and trade off-grid all day with the engine off.

How do I recharge it?

From a normal grid connection, from solar panels or from a generator. Most operators plug in overnight and recharge at off-peak rates, then trade on stored power the next day.

What happens in a blackout?

The in-store system keeps your connected equipment running from the battery when the grid goes down, so freezers and cabinets stay cold and you can keep serving. How long depends on what is connected.

Can I check the battery from my phone?

Yes. Every system has remote monitoring over Wi-Fi or the app, showing charge level, system status and alerts.

Is it really silent?

There is no engine, so there is no generator noise and no exhaust. That matters at events, markets, weddings and anywhere customers queue beside your van or cart.

What can it run?

Soft serve machines, topping counters, fridges and freezers, POS, lighting and more. Sized correctly, the whole store can run on the Majors Group battery system.

What warranty does it come with?

Every Majors Group battery system comes with a 10-year warranty.

Can it be installed indoors or outdoors?

Both. The system sits in a strong enclosure that is designed and built to withstand force, and it can be installed indoors or outdoors.

Can you custom design a battery system?

Yes. Whatever your requirements are, talk to us. We custom design battery systems for vans, carts, stores and other sites. Call 0508 625 677.

What support do I get after I buy?

Our remote support team looks after your battery system after the sale. They can check the system online and help you without a site visit.

Are the batteries recyclable?

Yes. The batteries can be recycled at the end of their life.

Which size do I need?

It depends on what you run and for how long. Send us your equipment list and trading hours and we will size the system with you. Call 0508 625 677 or send us a message.
