Carpigiani Gelato University, the international gelato school with 20 campuses in 19 countries, expanded its online catalogue with new courses for beginners and professionals. It was careful to note that, like every culinary art, gelato is learnt by experimenting in the laboratory every day.
For beginners: the E-Taste series
Newcomers can start with E-Taste, available in Italian, English, French and Spanish. It has five lessons of 90 minutes each, plus a downloadable workbook covering the basics of high-quality artisan gelato.
University director Kaori Ito said the project lets anyone step into the main campus and try the teaching method behind many success stories since 2003. Thousands of former students have changed their lives through gelato, she noted, and the market still offers plenty of opportunity. Technology now reaches people who love gelato and cooking but have not yet taken the first step. Even so, she said, the complete course at the Bologna campus remains essential for the classroom experience and the practical lessons.
For professionals
- Home Delivery Solution (Italian and English): for businesses responding to the emergency by starting a delivery service.
- Advanced, specialised courses such as “Gelato for lactose intolerant” and “Gelato with alcoholic drinks”.

The courses sit in the Online Courses area of the Gelato University website.
