Carpigiani was among the key players at Sigep World 2026, the international trade show for gelato, pastry, artisan bakery and coffee, held in Rimini from January 16 to 20. At Booth 061 in Hall C1, visitors could see the best of frozen dessert technology and book business-development consultations with Carpigiani technicians and Carpigiani Gelato University instructors.

Gelato University demonstrations

The Carpigiani Gelato University area hosted instructor demonstrations of its new specialisation courses: Gelato Business Week, Gelato with Tea, Herbal Infusions and Steeping, Gelato and Coffee, and Alcoholic Gelato and Sorbets: New Techniques. On Sunday, January 18 at 1 pm, the same area also presented the results of 15 years of the Bruto and Poerio Carpigiani Foundation’s “Gelaterie e Pasticcerie Solidali” (solidarity gelato shops and pastry businesses).

• Gelato World Cup, 11th edition (January 16 to 20, 2026): after national and continental selections in 2024 and 2025, 12 teams from five continents competed for the world title across eight challenges covering gelato, pastry, chocolate and haute cuisine. The nations were Argentina, Belgium, China, Ecuador, France, Japan, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Poland and Singapore.
• Gelato Festival World Masters Italian Final (January 17, 2026): sixteen gelato makers competed for Italy’s four places in the 2026 World Final.
• Sigep Gelato d’Oro (January 20, 2026): a selection of the best Italian gelato makers and pastry chefs for the Italian team at the Gelato Europe Cup 2027.
