Combined gelato machines: pasteurise and freeze in one

A combined gelato machine pasteurises your mix and then batch freezes it, in one footprint. The Carpigiani Compacta 4 has a pasteuriser on top and a batch freezer below, so you can run the whole gelato cycle on a countertop. It suits cafes, restaurants and smaller gelato shops that want to make gelato from scratch without a full lab.

What a combined machine gives you

2-in-1 design

Compacta 4 pasteurises the mix in the top section and freezes it in the batch freezer below.

Compact footprint

The countertop format fits kitchens and counters where two separate machines will not.

Useful output

Compacta 4 handles 1.5 to 4 kg per cycle, for about 18 to 27 L of gelato per hour.

Less waste

The refrigerated boiler keeps leftover mix for the next day.

Other all-in-one options

Carpigiani Ready pasteurises, ages and batch freezes in one machine, and ReadyChef adds pastry and chocolate programs.

Is a combined machine right for you?

01

You want to make mixes from scratch

A combined machine lets you pasteurise fresh milk-based mixes without buying a separate pasteuriser.

02

Space is tight

One countertop unit replaces two machines, which helps in cafes, restaurants and small shops.

03

Your volumes are moderate

For a large gelateria, separate pasteurisers and floor-standing batch freezers give more capacity.

04

You want simple training

One machine and one routine are quicker for staff to learn.

Frequently asked questions

What is a combined gelato machine? +

It is a single machine that both pasteurises the mix and batch freezes it into gelato. Compacta 4 does this with a pasteuriser on top and a batch freezer below.

How much gelato does Compacta 4 make? +

Compacta 4 handles 1.5 to 4 kg per cycle, which is about 18 to 27 L of gelato per hour.

What happens to leftover mix? +

The refrigerated boiler keeps the mix so you can use it the next day, reducing waste.

Is a combined machine enough for a gelato shop? +

For a smaller shop, often yes. Busier gelaterias usually move to separate pasteurisers and batch freezers for more capacity. We help you decide.

Can I finance a combined gelato machine? +

Yes. We work with New Zealand finance partners, and finance is available for up to 100% of a new asset’s purchase price. See finance options.
